The wind turbines get energy converting energy from the wind in a torque acting on the rotor blades. The amount of energy transferred to the rotor by the wind depends on the density of the wind, sweep the area of the rotor and wind speed.
The micro wind turbines can be installed on the roof of buildings and may have a wide range of powers from 600 W to 6000 W, with a rotor between 2 m 4 m in diameter, the most common of the 1000 W.
