Photovoltaic solar energy is based on the direct conversion of solar radiation incident on semi-conductor materials in electrical energy through the photovoltaic effect. The solar photovoltaic technology that now dominates the global market based on a technology standard for crystalline silicon (mono and multicristalina). The first photovoltaic cell, silicon single crystal, was designed in 1954 in the United States, developing the second generation of photovoltaic technology, the generation of thin film of hydrogenated amorphous silicon, developed in 1976, but the film CIS (Copper Indium Selenium ) and CdTE (Cadmium Tellurium), were developed to reduce the cost of photovoltaic technology through the development of materials with lower cost and more efficient production processes.
